The School of Advocates
General information

School of Advocates of the RA (hereinafter: School of Advocates) with a status of  foundation  is a non -profit organization and  whose founder  is the Chamber of Advocates   represented by the Board of the Chamber of Advocates.

School of Advocates:

1) Shall organize and hold the professional education  of the attendees of the School of Advocates
2) Shall organize the qualification examination for the attendees of the School of Advocates
3) Organize and hold  the professional trainings for advocates
4) Shall implement other activities submitted by the Charter of School of Advocates.

The management of the School of Advocates is implemented by Managing   Board of the   School of Advocates (hereinafter, Board of the School of Advocates) and Director of the School of Advocates.

A participant of the School (hereinafter: the participant) may be any capable physical person, who has a qualification of lawyer bachelor degree or of certified specialist, with the exception of cases if the latter has been convicted for intentionally committed crime and the conviction has not been cleared or cancelled.

The Person, prescribed by Charter of School of Advocates, obtains a participant status immediately after being admitted to the School of Advocates.

 

Trainings of the participant is implemented within the terms and order prescribed by the Charter of the School of Advocates. Training is implemented in two phases: theory and practice (probation period).The duration of the training shall not be less than 6 months.

The training of the participant, as a lawyer, having at least 5 years of professional practice is implemented by the Charter of the School of Advocates provided with a simplified procedure.

The educational projects of the School of Advocates , presented by the Director of the School of Advocates, is established by the Board of The School of Advocates.

The Director of the School of Advocates shall provide the graduated attendee of the School with  a certificate during  10 days, which gives  the attendees the right  to participate to the qualification examination.

Qualification exams are the unified exams for getting an Advocate’s lisence which only the attendees that have passed the relevant training at the School of Advocates have the right to take.

The qualification examination is accepted by the qualification commission of the Chamber of Advocates. The Board of the Chamber of Advocates defines the order of accepting and handing the qualification examination.

The Participant who did not take part in the qualification exam or failed it shall pass a special training at the School of Advocates, with the exeption of cases, if he/she has not participated due to respectful reasons. The Participant that fails the qualification exam may again participate in such an exam after repeating the courses the School of Advocates on common grounds.

The results of the qualification examination can be appealed to the Board of The Chamber of Advocates or judicially after the publication of results of qualification examination during a month.

Advocates may pass a re-training at the School of Advocates or in other institutions accredited by the Chamber of Advocates.   

Advocates shall take the courses as stipulated by the Board of the Chamber of Advocates, that cannot be less than 48 hours for the period of 2 years.

The absence on the judicial inquiry and/or legal proceeding shall be considered  valid(respectable) during the advocates’ trainings , if the advocate informs the relevant person about it.
