Today, on February 27, the opening ceremony of Hrazdan residence of public defender's office took place in Kotayk regional administration. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Chairman of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia Ara Zohrabyan and Kotayk regional governor Romanos Petrosyan back in October, 2018. Within the framework of the document, the Parties intend to cooperate in implementation of awareness raising programs for the residents of the marz (region), providing free and effective legal aid.

The legal service to the citizens will be provided both by the public defenders and by the advocates who do not have their own area for advocacy activities. Instead, these advocates will provide free legal advice once a week for residents of the marz. 

“I am sure that our citizens will benefit from this cooperation. As far as I know, the major issues of the citizens are related to legal issues, and in this regard, this platform gives our citizens a good opportunity to receive legal assistance and relieves the burden of the state” highlighted Ara Zohrabyan.

“At this stage, support of this format is very important for the region and we are glad that we are cooperating with you,” mentioned Kotayk regional governor Romanos Petrosyan

Today, on February 28, the Legal Clinic of the School of Advocates of RA together with advocates will provide the residents of Kotayk region with free legal consultation.

On the opening of Hrazdan residence of the Public Defender's Office of the Chamber of Advocates, the governor of Kotayk region donated a painting of one of the students of Abovyan Fine Arts College to the office.
