A few days ago, the Chamber of Advocates of RA appealed to its international partners, drawing their attention to the incident of violence against an advocate by police officers in Armenia.

In response, CCBE, referring to the two cases that took place during 2023, strongly condemned the violence against advocates and appealed to the President of RA Vahagn Khachaturyan.

It is specifically mentioned in the letter:

The CCBE strongly condemns these acts of violence against the above-mentioned lawyers, and the CCBE respectfully urges Your Excellency to do everything in your power to ensure that a full and impartial investigation into these acts of violence is carried out, with a view to bringing those responsible to justice in accordance with international standards. In addition, the CCBE wishes to recall that all lawyers should be able to carry out their professional duties without fear of reprisal, hindrance, intimidation or harassment in order to preserve the independence and integrity of the administration of justice and the rule of law.
