On June 21, 2023 advocates' club meeting was held, in which the present advocates expressed their concerns regarding cases of violence against advocates.

The present advocates noted the indifference of competent bodies and relevant international structures towards the Institute of Advocacy.

The present advocates also noted that the proceedings against the abused advocates were carried out with insufficient speed, and the guilty ones continue to remain unpunished.

The inaction of the police is also evident, as the police officers who abused advocate Karen Alaverdyan continue to serve today.

The advocates, reaffirming their demands, in order to eliminate the existing obstacles to the implementation of the advocates’ professional activity, decided:

-      to carry out a one-day protest action on June 26, 2023, refusing to provide protection or representation in the state bodies of the Republic of Armenia (including courts, preliminary investigation bodies) on that day.

P.S.1. June 26 is the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture..

P.S. 2. The purpose of this fight is to exercise the clients' right to a fair trial, because an oppressed advocate cannot effectively protect the client's interests.

P.S. 3. Shortly after the June 26 protest, a club meeting will be called to discuss the schedule and conditions of the next 3-day protest.
